The Department of Gynaecology is staffed with some of the most qualified and extensively trained doctors. The department deals with patients having gynaecological problems, obstetrics i.e., maternity and fertility issues.

 Gynaecology:

Gynaecology service investigates, diagnoses and treats conditions related to women’s reproductive health. Gynaecology service provides specialist care in the following areas:

• Cervical cancer
• Contraception
• Early pregnancy and gynaecological emergencies and scanning         
• Endometriosis
• Female genital mutilation (FGM) and other problems
• Fertility
• Fibroids
• Gynaecological cancers
• Menstrual problems
• Minimal access surgery for gynaecology
• Vaginal Prolapse       
• Termination of pregnancy  
• Urogynaecology
• Vulval diseases

Maternity Care & Child Birth

We are proud to provide supportive, personalised and high-quality maternity care to women. We have a fully equipped Labour Room with attached Operation theatres, Baby resuscitation area, and Neonatal ICU (NICU).

During your pregnancy, your obstetrician will:

• Monitor your health and your developing babies' health, including doing routine ultrasounds, measurements, and tests
• Check for health conditions that could cause problems during your pregnancy or affect your babies' health, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, infections, and genetic disorders
• Advise you about diet, exercise, medications, and staying healthy
• Help you cope with morning sickness, back and leg pain, heartburn, and other common pregnancy complaints
• Answer your questions about pregnancy and your growing baby
• Explain what will happen during labor and delivery

Your obstetrician will also decide the best method to delivery your babies. If the need arises we have round the clock facilities to perform Cesarean Section.

Obstetricians work together with nurses, midwives, and other health professionals to provide your care. You may see these team members during your routine prenatal visits.

When the big day arrives, nurses or midwives will help you through the hard work of labor, but your obstetrician will monitor your progress and, when the time comes, deliver your babies.

We hope that you will have a straightforward pregnancy, but if you do experience any complications our experts can provide specialist advice and care.

Fertility:

We can provide you services if you need assessment and treatment related to fertility.

We offer:

Contraception:

Females can get counselling and expert opinion regarding contraception and get advice about which method of contraception would be most suitable for them. 

We can offer a variety of contraception methods including but not limited to:

• Dermal Implants
• Oral contraceptives 
• Intra-uterine methods (like IUCD, Myrina) 
• Tubal Ligation
• Vasectomy

Urogynaecology

Our urogynaecology service will help to diagnose women having problems with incontinence. We look after women experiencing either urinary incontinence (related to bladder) or fecal incontinence.We also care for women having a problem with vaginal prolapse.

 

We provide:

• Pelvic floor physiotherapy
• Drug treatments for overactive bladder (anticholinergics)
• Urinary retention
• Various types of bladder neck surgery for stress urinary incontinence

 

General & Laparoscopic Surgery 

The general surgical team encompasses a full range of emergency and elective inpatient and day case surgeries.

All consultants have extensive general surgical experience coupled with strong interests in several specialist fields which include: colorectal cancer, upper gi surgery, endocrine surgery, bariatric surgery and minimally invasive surgery.

The general surgery department provides a full range of elective and emergency services for patients. Surgeries for common surgical conditions such as skin lesions, hernias of all types and gallstone disease are provided. Many of these conditions can be treated by laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery.

Our consultant general surgeons also provide 24/7 emergency surgery service. Patients also benefit from the wide range of on-site medical specialties (Cardiology, Internal Medicine and Nephrology) necessary for patients with multiple needs.
